Today, these are my favorite things:

1. The Sartorialist http://www.thesartorialist.blogspot.com

The best eye-candy available on the inter-web-tubes. Scott Schuman takes photographs of people on the street that catch his eye and then posts them on his blog. He has a great point-of-view and he seems to be a sensible, not-weird kind of guy.

2. West Elm http://www.westelm.com/

My friend Caitlin introduced me to this company while we were in college. They used to be kind of earthy and yoga-ish, but their style has mutated into something that I would call near perfect. (Currently, the style is a mix of modern and mid-century pieces with some great color and textiles thrown in.) I could look at their catalog for hours and nearly every design choice I’ve made in my house has been influenced by West Elm.

3. Resolve High Traffic Foam (Pets) http://www.amazon.com/Resolve-Pet-High-Traffic-Foam-623/dp/B003Z3R4KI/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1294543042&sr=8-3

Isn’t it great when a product does what it says it’s gonna do?

4. Shark Steam Mop http://www.sharkclean.com/

Anyone who has a house with floors should have one of these. Seriously, have you ever felt a weight settle on your shoulders when you remember that your floors needs mopped? That weight will be gently and forever lifted from your shoulders once you begin using the Shark Steam Mop. It’s like magic. And it’s easy. And it’s light. And once again, it does what it says it’s gonna do. A big shout out to the Parsons family for recommending this great product!

5. I John http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=1+John+1&version=NIV

This morning I found myself reading this book again. The word of God is so powerful, so full of wisdom, so perfect. Which leads me to another one of my favorite things…

6. God’s living, active word http://secretsmile.blogsome.com/2008/05/19/for-the-word-of-god-is-living-and-active/

The picture that I’ve linked to is totally weird, but I have been thinking a lot about Hebrews 4.12. Actually, it’s more something you experience, huh? Just think…it’s His Word, His Jesus, His Breath, His Spirit, His Person. It’s doing so much all the time. It’s virility is overwhelming.

7. Garth and Kat
Just watch this.

8. Adoption http://amazima.org/blog.html, http://www.thehomeofgodslove.org/

I recently met a beautiful little girl named Emerson who was adopted from China. A few weeks later I met a spunky little boy adopted from The Home of God’s Love in Taiwan. My cousin is helping with Amazima Ministries in Uganda where a girl about my age has adopted thirteen beautiful girls. Adoption is a beautiful thing, both when God adopts his orphaned creation and when we choose to go out and adopt other children of God who are alone.

9. These two dogs I know

10. Gap Always Skinny, Fresh Cropped jean, size 27 http://www.nowhereonthebloodyweb.com

These don’t exist anymore. Seriously. I’ve called Frisco, Ft. Worth, Southlake, Las Vegas, San Francisco…Alaska. Sigh. Guess I’ll just have to keep going through life without a pair of jeans that I truly like.

What are some of your favorite things right now?
